Electis Solutions launches the first voting platform dedicated to the election of parent representatives that is fully verifiable through blockchain. The company aims to promote transparent and secure electronic voting, in a market currently monopolized by black box voting solutions. Electis is a French startup that created the first open-source internet-voting platform, end-to-end verifiable through the Tezos blockchain.

The internet voting market is growing very quickly in France. Electis, after an initial fundraising of one million euros, has become in one year one of the main players in corporate electronic voting (employee representative elections for the CSE committee).

With the launch of its new platform for schools, Electis intends to become the leader in the election of parent representatives to the school boards in France. Electis successfully conducted a first test with a high school in Occitanie in 2023 and will support dozens of schools for the October 2024 election. Remote electronic voting has been authorized for these annual elections since August 2023, opening up a new market of nearly 60,000 establishments.

To finance its growth, Electis has raised one million euros from Fast Forward, Financière Bonastella, and several entrepreneurs such as Philippe Dardier (Alternative), Henri Assaf (SAB), Sébastien Romelot (Insert), François Ganneau (Safeer), Adrien Hubert (ICOX), and Jonathan Bordereau (Golden Bees). Electis innovation projects also benefit from the financial support of the Ile-de-France Region and the French State (Banque Publique d’Investissement) as part of the France 2030 program.

Electis relies on cutting-edge technologies such as homomorphic encryption, which allows votes to be counted while mathematically guaranteeing anonymity (Electis is one of the contributors to the ElectionGuard solution developed in open-source), and the Tezos public blockchain (which guarantees minimal environmental impact). "Secure, open-source and verifiable online voting is a revolution that will decentralize all sectors of our societies," explains Gilles Mentré, co-founder of Electis.

Electis also works with several cities, international organizations (UN/UNFCC), and institutions to develop new voting methods, aiming for more direct, transparent, and verifiable governance. Franck Nouyrigat, co-founder of Electis, adds: "Within five years, open-source and verifiability will be mandatory standards on which we are developing a strategic lead."

This approach is not limited to the French market, and Electis intends to expand to other European markets and the United States.
